About the blog
If you are interested in travel, gluten free food, fitness and parenting then you will feel right at home here.
Lavender & Trainers is a blog about my own personal experiences as a wife and mother living in Northamptonshire and will cover travel reviews and tips, recipes and reviewing gluten free foods, keeping fit at 40 and anything else that happens to be interesting in my day to day life.
About Me
Hi, my name is Louise. I am originally from Dunstable in Bedfordshire but have lived in Northamptonshire since 1990. I am a wife to Paul and a mother to two daughters and two little Yorkshire terriers.
I am what is known as a multipotentialite and have various qualifications ranging from a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts, a BA and a Masters degree in Law and a BSC degree in Health Sciences.
I previously studied midwifery and have personally delivered 42 babies including twins. I have volunteered as a special constable and as a breastfeeding support worker. I have also been an extra in a BBC drama.
I love keeping fit and spend most mornings at the gym or running round the local parks in Northamptonshire.
I was diagnosed with Coeliac disease in 2003. I therefore need to avoid gluten for medical reasons and enjoy making gluten free meals and cakes.
As I am now a SAHM to two school age daughters I found that I had more time to myself and whilst wondering how to fill my spare time I came across an article about blogging and thought that this would definitely be a better use of my time rather than the numerous shopping excursions for clothing, makeup or anything really, that had previously filled my afternoons.
